Her body is his canvas. When Makena Brady walks into SkIntense Body Art, she expects nothing more than a little prick, and a small tattoo to satisfy her quest for independence from her “good girl” lifestyle. He works his magic on her, bringing her to the edge of reason with a temporary tattoo airbrushed on her inner thigh.Enthralled by the excitement of lying nearly naked while he paints

Makena Brady has been standing outside of SkIntense Body Art debating whether or not she should finally get the tattoo she has always wanted. Darq Stone has been watching Makena and waiting for her to step inside the shop. When she finally does, Darq’s intense attraction to her threatens to overwhelm him. The strong feelings Makena has for Darq as well are a little unnerving but she doesn’t deny them. Darq and Makena explore tattoos and over the course of a few days their bodies Darq has a secret, one that may drive Makena away from him.

Skin is a story wrapped in magic and sensuality. Darq is mysterious, intriguing, and very sexy. He brings out the inner sexy siren in Makena. They are perfect together. Skin is very romantic and very hot. It’s a terrific story.

I hadn’t really read the book info on this one, so was surprised by the sci-fi element, not that I am complaining. I thought the premise was interesting, and as always with this genre the sex scenes were hot. If you are looking for a short read that will tickle that sci-fi urge with some really well written characters I would suggest reading Skin. I am looking forward to reading my by Bernadette Gardner.

Bernadette zooms right into the characters and their building connection. Stripping away all the external influences while still allowing the Sci-fi elements to develop. This allows her to focus the story completely on the tension building between the characters. Could she have chosen to develop the back story and weave in a more developed secondary plot line? Yes. But, I don’t think that was her goal. This is a tightly focused, well written bed-time story. Sweet dreams!
